Veteran Yoruba actress, Kudirat Ajimati, is dead. She reportedly passed on Tuesday morning, November 15, 2016, in Ogun State.
Ajimati has since been buried according to the Islamic rites and customs. She is survived by an aged mother.
According to reports from Naij, the news
of her death was shared on social media by the Theatre Arts and Movie
Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN),Ogun State
chapter of which she was a member.
The post read:
“It
saddens our association, Theatre Arts and Movie Pictures Practitioners
Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN),Ogun State Chapter, to announce the
untimely death of our beloved sister/colleague Kudirat Ajimat popularly
known and called Ajimat. The news of her death got to us this morning as
a shocker but we don’t have the power to stop God from doing what is
right in HIS sight. Ajimat, we will seriously miss u and ur friendly
lifestyle! Rest in Peace!”
In an
exclusive interview with the online publication, the chairman of TAMPAN
in Ogun state Pastor Ajidara revealed that the association received the
news on Tuesday morning.
He added that
the deceased was buried according to Islamic injunction, noting that the
burial was arranged quietly and quickly as she still has an aged
mother.
The cause of her death was not disclosed.
Actors like Ronke Oshodi and Toyin Aimakhu have taken to social media to
mourn Ajimati's passing.
Some of the movies she has featured in include "Adigun Oga Oga", "Bata Wahala," amongst others.
