The South Korean car makers earlier promised Nigerians that Made-in-Nigeria KIA would be available before the end of the year.
The Made-in-Nigeria KIA cars, including the Rio, Cerato and Optima, were unveiled by the Honorable Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory Mrs. Olajumoke Akinjide, who represented the Vice President Namadi Sambo.
Mrs. Olajumoke Akinjide expressed her delight and commended President Jonathan for introducing such a robust policy. She commended KIA Motors for the Made-in-Nigeria cars, describing the Kia Rio as “the People’s Car” and “incredibly built to compliment the youth and the women”.
Also in attendance at the unveiling were the Chief Commercial Officer of KIA Motors Nigeria Mr. Sandeep Malhotra and the Managing Director of BKG Exhibitions Mr. Ifeanyi Agwu and the Deputy Director of the National Automotive Council Mr. P. B. Salau.
In moving Nigeria forward President Jonathan is growing the economy by promoting Made-in-Nigeria.
