23-year-old Bosnian transgender model is breaking down the standards of beauty in the fashion industry with every fierce step she takes down the runway.
After walking in dozens of runway shows in her career, modeled clothes for Jeremy Scott, Thom Browne and Marc Jacobs, she has landed a major beauty contract and has just been declared the face of Make Up For Ever.
Andreja Pejic is one of the first transgender models to secure a major beauty campaign after being declared the face of Make Up For Ever.
The 23-year-old was discovered by a scout while working at a Melbourne McDonald’s seven years ago.
Revealed by vogue, Pejic, who’s modeled for both men’s and women’s brands, has come a long way since last July, when she came out as transgender.
Consequently, the fashion industry is starting to realize that they need to do away with their outdated ideas about gender.
We're hoping and wishing Pejic's success will pave the way for more underrepresented models to make their way down the catwalk.
And we're hoping this conversation keeps going — so that more acceptance continues past the catwalk
