Ooni of Ife's Burial Rites Halted Because His 'Abobaku' Has Escaped | Why Did He Abscond ?

Stories unfolding reveals the burial rites for the late Ooni of Ife, Oba Sijuwade has been put to a halt after the Abobaku fled the town.

According to the Yoruba tradition when a king dies, servants or slaves have to be buried with him in order to easy his journey into the other realm. Allegedly,

Several reports claim, 'Abobaku', the one whose fate it is to die and be buried with the king is reported missing. Isn't it funny !

The is the one appointed upon the coronation a the king and he is expected to die with and serve the King even in the great beyond.

Until now no one knows his reasons for absconding. Maybe he's enjoying civilization and thought the tradition he once practiced is primitive or as rumoured that the early announcement of the Ooni’s death is said to have alerted the Abobaku possibly enabling his to escape.

The Big question. If you were the 'Abobaku' will you wait to surrender your life in this day and age ?
